I believe praying for my kids is important. I’m not just raising them–I’m in the business of training hearts and minds. And I’m daily reminded of the spiritual battle that exists for their bodies and souls. Prayer brings all the power of heaven to bear in that battle. That’s why I’m thankful for Teri Lynne Underwood’s new book, Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most.
Praying for Girls guides you through 200 Scripture-based prayers for your daughter’s identity, heart, mind, relationships, and purpose. Each day’s entry contains a brief devotional and a list of scriptural prayers organized around the day’s theme. There’s also a section just for moms–because we have to get these truths into our own hearts if we want our daughters to grab hold tight. One of my favorite features is the “Girl Talk” section, which includes devotional activities and conversation starters for little, “middle,” and big girls. As the mother of both first grade and preteen daughters, I love that the book offers age-appropriate suggestions for me to delve into these important topics with them both.
Praying for Girls is a resource that will help you pray for your girls and disciple your daughters. If you’re raising girls, it’s a book you will love too.

Well I do not have any daughters as yet but will keep in mind for when I do. Thanks
I like that it speaks to girls of different ages. My daughter is seven and I am always cautious about getting books that meet her where she is. Thanks for sharing.
I’m always glad to hear about another resource 🙂 raising a 4 year old girl and always conscious of her need for prayer — and of my own!
I have never heard of this, but how important is it to pray for all the little girls <3 Love the heart of this message 🙂
Thanks for sharing about this book. I will definitely recommend it to people bringing up girls.
I could use this for my own daughter!
Thank you, Leigh, for sharing about “Praying for Girls.” ~ Teri Lynne
