So this week I’ve been swamped. I have a larger writing project due today (eeps!), which means my husband and children have been living with crazy writer woman all week.
Bad news: no new blog post this week. Good news: I’ve got something for you.
Here it is:
I cannot tell you how excited I was to get to review this album. I love good worship music, but Passion will always have a special place in my heart from back when Louie Giglio and Choice ministries were still at Baylor. Louie’s teachings on worship and the 268 Generation challenge were foundational for me, and I’m always excited to see a new Passion album come out.
So. This album. Y’all, it really is that good. Several of the songs on the album will be familiar to Christian radio listeners, including tracks such as “Good, Good Father” featuring Kristian Stanfill and “God and God Alone” from Chris Tomlin. But there are several new, very singable songs on this album that I expect will also become favorites. One thing I really appreciated about Salvation’s Tide is how cross-focused many of the songs on this album are. Modern Christian worship is often criticized–and sometimes rightfully so–on being theologically shallow. I appreciated the depth in these songs and how much they focused on the meaning of Jesus’ sacrifice for us.
